Basara Saraswathi Temple is the one among two temples of Goddess Saraswathi in India. Saraswathi is the goddess of knowledge and learning . Children are brought in the temple for a ritual called “Akshara Abhyasam” before formal education starts. Basara Temple is situated in a village called Basar on the banks of Godavari river .
